Value-Add Redevelopment | Overland Park, Kansas

Doug, in conjunction with Colby Capital, purchased a Ford dealership that occupied a strategic corner in one of Kansas City’s top new trade areas.  Recognizing that the property would have more value if converted to high profile retail, the partnership retrofitted a portion of the dealership, and added more space to create a shopping center leased to Staples (the top performing store in the market), Play It Again Sports, Goodwill and Frontier Furniture, among others.  Because the car dealership was over-parked, Doug derived additional revenue by rezoning and replatting the property to carve out outparcels for the Blue Valley School District and Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers.
