Wendy Brand thrives in the commercial real estate arena, along with her siblings and relatives.  Wendy has devoted more than two decades to building a foundation of success, relationships, experience and knowledge in the industry – primarily focused on landlord leasing, tenant representation and development.  From negotiating on behalf of long-term clients, chasing new concepts and creatively making deals happen, Wendy demonstrates a knack for the “art” of the deal.

Wendy started her career in 1998 at The RH Johnson Company, where she served as Vice President for 17 years.  While at The RH Johnson Company, she leased and represented a variety of national and local tenants and landlords throughout the Midwest.  Prior to joining Newmark Grubb Zimmer in early 2016, she served as Senior Vice President at Legacy Development. Wendy worked on such projects as Willits Town Center in Basalt, CO; Liberty Commons in Liberty, MO; Truman’s Marketplace in Grandview, MO; Park Place in Leawood, KS;  The Legends in Kansas City, KS; and Emporia Pavilions in Emporia, KS (where she notably added top national retailers to a challenging small-town project during a difficult market).

 Wendy has represented many retailers throughout her career such as CVS Drug Store, Lifetime Fitness, Famous Footwear, Sprint, Starbucks, Rocket Fizz, Tropical Smoothie Café, Culvers and Sport Clips. Delivering value beyond just representing clients on individual transactions, Wendy strategized, planned and executed the entire market entry and expansion program for many of these retailers.

Wendy is a Kansas City native — one of many assets she calls upon when committing to achieving results for her landlord or tenant clients.  Among her many achievements, Wendy was recently honored with the CoStar Power Leasing Broker in 2018 for outstanding work.  She prides herself on her attentive skill set, creative problem solving, and having worked with some of the best retailers in the business.

 Wendy currently lives in Leawood with three children and three dogs and spends time giving back to the community which has served her so well.
